This seminar is part of a series of events UNIFEM is co-sponsoring during the UN Conference on the World Financial and Economic Crisis and Its Impact on Development on 24–26 June 2009.

The seminar aims to promote an evidence-based and engaging discussion on how the economic crisis is impacting women’s and men's lives. It will analyse possible measures and public policies that the Latin American and Caribbean region could put forward to avoid negative long-term development consequences.
