  • Baseline Survey on Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Rwanda
    Baseline Survey on Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Rwanda (2008). This assessment sheds light on the magnitude of sexual and gender-based violence in Rwanda and determines its underlying causes and consequences. Carried out in four districts in Rwanda, this study gives, for instance, data on cases of violence and assaults experienced by women and girls in public spaces as well as in marital and family relationships. It explores the subsequent actions that survivors have taken, and evaluates the role of various stakeholders in preventing and fighting sexual and gender-based violence. The quantitative and qualitative information will enable UNIFEM and its partners to develop targeted strategies and interventions to prevent and fight this type of violence in Rwanda. read more et aussi
