- Progress of the World's Women 2005: Women, Work and Poverty. Makes the case for an increased focus on women’s informal employment as a key pathway to reducing poverty and strengthening women’s economic security. It provides the latest available data on the size and composition of the informal economy and compares national data on average earnings and poverty risk across different segments of the informal and formal workforces in six developing countries and one developed country to show the links between employment, gender and poverty.
- Gender Equality & the Millennium Development Goals. This web portal provides access to resources to promote better understanding of and sharing of tools for addressing gender equality in all of the MDGs — from literature on gender equality as it relates to each goal, to tools for advocacy and action.
- Towards Achieving the MDGs in Sudan: Centrality of Women’s Leadership and Gender Equality. This publication is an effort to show how Sudanese women, in their diversity and spirit of unity, are defining the critical development agenda for the country in the coming decade. It endeavors to provide a permanent record of some of the historic actions by Sudanese women on the agenda for peace and development, within the spirit of global partnership.
- Pathway to Gender Equality: CEDAW, Beijing and the MDGs. Details how the synergy between CEDAW, the Beijing Platform for Action and the Millennium Development Goals can be used to generate a wealth of understanding and knowledge that portrays the nature of gender-based discrimination and defines the steps needed to achieve gender equality.
- Partnerships for Gender Equality: The Role of Multilateral and Bilateral Agencies in Africa. This report documents the work of various multilateral and bilateral donors in Africa to meet the goals of the 1995 Beijing Platform for Action. It describes efforts to meet the Platform's strategic objectives, offers lessons learned that will be of value in the future, and identifies the challenges that remain.
- Resource Guide for Gender Theme Groups. Provides practical guidance for UN Theme Groups working on gender equality. It focuses on how to more effectively collaborate and coordinate activities to incorporate gender equality and women's empowerment issues into key interagency coordination mechanisms.
- Making the Links: Women's Rights and Empowerment are Key to Achieving the Millennium Development Goals. Statement by Noeleen Heyzer at the Workshop on Gender Equality and the Millennium Development Goals World Bank, Washington, DC., 19 November 2003.
- Progress of the World's Women 2002, Volume 2. Provides a snapshot of the state of women's lives around the world and how much further we have to go to achieve equality. The report is the second edition of a biennial publication first produced in 2000 to track and measure the world's commitment to gender equality. It assesses improvements made towards women's empowerment within the context of the Millennium Development Goals.
