Women's economic security is realized in part by the expansion of business and trade opportunities. These opportunities are often created through the establishment of strong local and national organizations that advocate for women's economic security. more »
Micro-finance
While several micro-finance institutions currently operate in Afghanistan, a high demand for women's increased involvement remains. The CEED programme has provided small grants to Afghan NGOs who in turn deliver micro-credit opportunities to women. more »
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Centers
UNIFEM has also provided financial support to NGOs in the establishment of six community-based Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Centers.
