A/RES/39/125 – 14 December 1984 – Future Arrangements for the Management of the Voluntary Fund for the United Nations Decade for Women. UNIFEM founding resolution. Establishes UNIFEM as a separate and identifiable entity in autonomous association with UNDP, upon the dissolution of the Voluntary Fund for the United Nations Decade for Women, at the end of the decade.

A/RES/60/137 – 16 December 2005 – United Nations Development Fund for Women. UNIFEM Resolution. Adopted by consensus by the 3rd Committee on Wednesday 2 November 2005 with the support of a record 113 co-sponsors, this resolution sets a new benchmark for future UNIFEM resolutions as it contains some significant additions compared to past resolutions. A/RES/56/130 – 19 December 2001 – United Nations Development Fund for Women. Biennial UNIFEM Resolution. Encourages UNIFEM to continue to ensure that a gender perspective is integrated into a comprehensive approach to HIV/AIDS at all levels of the three thematic areas of the Fund (para. 8), encourages the Fund to build the capacity of governments to undertake gender-responsive budget analysis (para. 9), urges the Fund to mainstream gender in the resident coordinator system through the common country assessment and United Nations Development Assistance Framework processes (para. 10), and welcomes the Fund's enhanced programme activities in Africa (para. 11). A/RES/54/136 – 17 December 1999 – United Nations Development Fund for Women. Biennial UNIFEM Resolution. Encourages UNIFEM to continue to assist governments in implementing CEDAW (par.7), requests that UNIFEM continue to raise awareness about and to strengthen the capacity of women in armed conflict and in promoting a gender perspective in all peacebuilding activities (par.8), and requests that UNIFEM continue its efforts in gender mainstreaming in UN operational activities (par. 9). A/RES/50/166 – 22 December 1995 – The Role of the United Nations Development Fund for Women in Eliminating Violence against Women. Requests the Fund, as one of the operational bodies of the UN, to take into account the need to strengthen its activities to eliminate violence against women (par.2), and requests the UNDP administrator to consider establishing a Trust Fund in support of national, regional, and international actions to eliminate violence against women (par.5).

A/RES/48/107 – 20 December 1993 – United Nations Development Fund for Women. Biennial Resolution for UNIFEM. Encourages the Fund to continue support for initiatives regarding women in politics and the democratization process. Welcomes advocacy in follow-up to the UN Conference on Environment and
Development (UNCED) and the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, and stresses the importance of the role of UNIFEM in preparations for the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and the Social Summit. Commends the Fund for signing the MoU with UNHCR.
