Fund for Gender Equality Grantees
In its first grantmaking cycle (2009–2010), the UNIFEM-managed Fund for Gender Equality has delivered more than US$37.5 million to 40 innovative programmes around the world that focus on women’s economic and/or political empowerment at local and national levels. In January 2010, the Fund announced the allocation of Catalytic Grants totalling more than US$9 million to 27 initiatives in 26 countries. In July 2010, the Fund announced Implementation Grants totalling more than US$27.5 million to recipients in 13 countries.
